Lorie Huston
Working as a veterinarian for the past 20+ years, Lorie has developed a strong desire to help pet owners keep their pets healthy by educating them on the various health care strategies which can protect pets against infectious diseases, parasites, and other dangers.
Attending the University of Nebraska, Lorie received a Bachelor of Science degree and then went on to attend the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986.
Lorie is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Information Network. Additionally, she is a professional member of both the Dog Writer's Association of America and the Cat Writer's Association.
Lorie has been writing online since 2001, when she first published The Pet Med Site. Currently, you can find her at the Pet Health Care Gazette, Feline Health Care Corner and Canine Health Care Corner. She is also the National Pet Health Examiner. In addition, she is the pet care columnist at Untrained Housewife.
Lorie has published numerous articles to various publications, including FIDOFriendly, Pet Sitters World, Dawg Business, Dancing Dog Blog and many others. She is frequently consulted by the press as an expert in the field of pet care and pet health.
When at home, Lorie enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her six cats (Lillie, Midge, Rusty, Dillon, Merlin and Rhette).
